Obituary - Danny Wells
Danny Wells
Danny Wells, 62, of Wilkesville, Ohio, passed away on June 12, 2010, following a farm accident the previous Sunday in which he was badly burned.

Dan bought and sold farm machinery for several years, and was the owner-operator of his own trucking concern. He was often seen throughout the Midwest at auctions or machinery lots with his longtime traveling companion, Geronimo, a large black Rottweiler mix who preceded him in death in May 2009. Together they hauled freight or machinery in every state in the lower 48, except North Dakota.

Dan loved the farming and trucking life, Case tractors and old Dodges of any kind. He looked forward to meeting his friends or making a new friend everywhere he went, and getting to tell a joke or funny story.

The eldest son of the late Walter M. and Maxine (Kessel) Wells, Dan was the fourth generation to operate Wells Orchard in southern Ohio until the mid-1980s. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Vietnam, a lifetime member of the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Assoc. of Grain City, Mo., a member of the Orphan’s friend Lodge, F&AM, and the First Presbyterian Church of Wilkesville.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, June Jones Wells, a sister, Constance Wells White of Wilkesville, brothers Eugene Wells of Wilkesville and Frank Wells of Raeford, N.C., and several nieces and nephews.
