Applicants sought for ASA/DuPont Young Leaders
ST. LOUIS, Mo. — The American Soybean Assoc. (ASA) and Pioneer Hi-Bred, a DuPont Business, are seeking applicants for the 2011 Young Leader Program.

The 2011 class of Young Leaders and their spouses will participate in a challenging and educational leadership experience Dec. 5-8, at Pioneer headquarters in Johnston, Iowa. They will go on to participate in Part II of the program, March 1-5, 2011, in Tampa, Fla., in conjunction with the annual Commodity Classic.

Application forms have been mailed to all ASA members. Interested candidates may apply online directly at www.SoyGrowers.com/dyl or call 800-688-7692, ext. 1328, to obtain an application form.

Soybean producers are encouraged to apply or nominate another producer who would be an excellent candidate for the program.

All applications and nominations should be returned to ASA by Aug. 31. One Young Leader couple or individual will be selected from each of ASA’s state affiliates.

NCGA seeks grower-leaders for corn action teams
CHESTERFIELD, Mo. — The National Corn Growers Assoc. (NCGA) is seeking applications from members interested in working on an NCGA action team or committee in the 2011 fiscal year, which begins Oct. 1.

This provides growers an opportunity to play an active role in shaping the future of their industry and to become a part of the national agricultural leadership community.

Positions are available on all teams and committees: Production and Stewardship Action Team, Research and Business Development Action Team, Public Policy Action Team, Grower Services Action Team, Biotechnology Working Group, Ethanol Committee, Joint Trade Policy A-Team and CornPAC.

Deadline for receipt of applications in the NCGA St. Louis office is Sept. 1. Interested parties may contact Kathy Baker at the NCGA office, 636-733-9004.

Soybean growers wanted for 2011 ASA awards
ST. LOUIS, Mo. — The Conservation Legacy Awards program, sponsored by the American Soybean Assoc. (ASA), Monsanto and Corn & Soybean Digest magazine, is looking for U.S. soybean farmers who should be recognized for their outstanding environmental and conservation practices.

There will be three regional winners, who together with a spouse or guest, will receive an expense-paid trip for two to Commodity Classic in Tampa, Fla., March 3-5, 2011. Regional winners will be recognized at the ASA Banquet, where a national winner will be announced from among the three regional winners.
