Farm Credit Services of Mid-America scholarship recipients
Louisville, Ky. — Scholarships of up to $1,500 were awarded to forty students who are either FCS customer-members or their dependents from Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee. Winners will attend the annual Customer Appreciation Events to be honored for their achievement. The event runs from June through September.

Indiana Recipients include: Travis James Brandenburg of Rensselaer, Purdue University; Kaitlyn Culy of Hagerstown, Purdue University; Amanda Downey of Boonville, Purdue University; John Evans of Westport, Purdue University; Sarah Jordan of Richmond, Purdue University; Kate Myers of Silver Lake, Purdue University; Amy Newnum of Kingman, Purdue University; Joshua Pottsmidt of Seymour, Purdue University; Mary Rodenhuis of Needham, Purdue University; Nevin Stumler of Fredericksburg, Purdue University; and Kassandra Wene of Corunna, University of Findlay.

Kentucky recipients include: Samantha Anderson of Winchester, Murray State University; Sarah Lynn Ayer of Calhoun, Western Kentucky University; Katie Dalton of Russell Springs, Western Kentucky University; Ally Hensley of Horse Cave, Western Kentucky University; Eli Mann of DeMossville, Morehead State University; Amber Nicole Phillips of Hardinsburg, Murray State University; Dustin Ross Reynolds of Crab Orchard, Somerset Community College; and Cheri Siddens of Glasgow, Western Kentucky University.

Ohio Recipients include: Heather Bradford of St. Marys, Purdue University; Kayla Finton of Coshocton, Wilmington College; Kristin Halley of Crown City, The Ohio State University; Elizabeth Krill of Edgerton, The Ohio State University; Brad Keltner of Martinsville, University of Kentucky; Jason C Miley of West Salem, The Ohio State University; Jordan Morsheiser of Carrollton, The Ohio State University; Emily Schloemer of Willard, The Ohio State University; and Jenny Shaw of Hamilton, Wilmington College.

Alexander FFA members compete at county fair
ALBANY, Ohio — The Alexander FFA chapter overall had a very productive summer. At the Athens County Fair: Katie Meeks received Grand Champion Hog, Kara Oberholzer - Reserve Champion Hog, Chase Meeks - Grand and Reserve Champion Dairy Feeder, 2nd place Ultimate Beef Showman, 1st Novice Market Goat Showmanship, 1st Intermediate Dairy Feeder Showmanship, Ben Doughty-Grand Champion Carcass Hog, Tyler Gilden- Reserve of Sale Dairy Feeder, Corine Craft- 1st Intermediate Showmanship, Doc Allman-Heaviest Pumpkin, and Kristy Lawrance- Grand Champion Jumping Hunt Seat Equitation, Reserve Champion Jumping Equitation Over Fences.

In addition at the Vinton County Fair, Whitney Mullins received Grand Champion Lamb, and 2nd in Lamb Senior Showmanship.
Also, on Sept. 12, the Alexander FFA hosted the Albany Fair Fun day. Activities included: chicken scratch, hay bale stacking, musical chairs, egg toss, and the sack race. Each kid received candy for participating and the child that won an event received a prize. Many kids of all ages and chapter members enjoyed this memorable last day of the Albany Fair.
