Number of FFA Members: As of the beginning of the 2010-1011 School year, the OBI FFA Chapter has 15 active FFA Members.

Chapter Charter Date: The Oneida Baptist Institute’s FFA Chapter was chartered in 1999 becoming the 2nd private school in the nation to charter an FFA Chapter.

What contests does the Chapter participate in? Local, regional and state FFA contests including: FFA Proficiency, speaking, welding, tractor driving, livestock judging/evaluation and livestock shows.   
What is your biggest fundraiser? “Support Our Troops” fundraiser in 2009. The OBI FFA Chapter was the highest raising chapter in the state of Kentucky. (Raising $836.50, for the National Guard soldiers in Afghanistan, teaching agriculture to the Afghan farmers.)

Favorite community service project: PRIDE: Personal Responsibility In A Desirable Environment. The OBI FFA Chapter schedules monthly community clean-ups and coordinates with local PRIDE officials in order to increase local awareness and involvement.
What is your chapter’s strengths? & Does the chapter have an AG. plot?

•Acreage - 841 acres of timberland used for harvesting & campus/farm construction purposes. 114 acres of hay and pasture ground. 180 acres of corn ground. 120 acres of rented crop ground.

•Tractor Driving class, where students are able to work in the hay and corn fields completing jobs that require a tractor.

•Beef cattle herd - which supplies the show calves & replacement heifers for the farm. Students are taught a wide variety of cattle handling procedures from pregnancy detection to administering injections. Students also study management intensive grazing.

•Holstein Calf Development Program - The OBI farm purchases bull calves at birth and feeds them to slaughter weights. Students are taught to follow Beef Quality Assurance techniques while processing and managing calves at all weights.

•Farrow-Finish Swine Operation- Consisting of 60 sows, used to produce market hogs. Normal inventory runs at 700-800 head of all sizes. Students are trained to do everything from processing to selecting replacement gilts.

•Goat Program - Herd consists of 50 Boer/Kiko cross does. Our goat herd supplies the show goats for our annual spring livestock show and the county fair.

•Feed Production - Using bagged supplements, soybean meal and farm raised corn students learn to mix rations in order to meet the nutritional needs of our livestock.

•Two Auto Shops - Our four-bays allow students the opportunity to design/fabricate unique equipment for specific farming needs. As well as allowing interested students the opportunity to learn about agricultural mechanics and maintenance.

•Two 40-foot by 90-foot Greenhouses - Serving the landscaping needs of our campus, as well as a hands-on classroom for the Horticulture, Landscaping and Plant Science classes.
