The Michigan Corn Growers Assoc. (MCGA) is proud to welcome Bill Kushmaul and Kevin Diffin to their new positions as presidents of their county MCGA chapters.

MCGA members in each county chapter elect highly qualified corn growers from their area to serve as county president and to represent the county on the MCGA board of directors.

"With their years of experience and dedication to our industry, Bill and Kevin will represent their counties well on the MCGA board," said Jim Zook, executive director of the MCGA. "The Michigan Corn Growers Association is looking forward to working with our new county presidents to serve the corn growers of our state and help grow the markets for corn and corn-based products."

Bill Kushmaul was elected president of the Clinton County MCGA. He previously served on the MCGA board for nine years as an industry representative. He now works for Boersen Farms in Grand Rapids as an agronomist and crop manager. Boersen Farms produces corn, soybeans and wheat, in more than 22 counties across the state.

Kushmaul has also been a member of the Michigan Agri-Business Assoc. for more than 40 years. He is an active member of the First Congressional Church of St. Johns and he and his wife, Kathy, have a loving family of two children and five grandchildren.

Kevin Diffin is the newly elected Saginaw County president. He, along with his grandfather, dad, uncle, brother and cousins, farm more than 1,900 acres in Saginaw and Genesee counties. This includes 1,100 acres of corn, 500 acres of soybeans and 300 acres of potatoes.

Diffin graduated from the Institute of Agricultural Technology at Michigan State University with a certificate in agriculture business. He and his wife, Carissa, are also expecting their first child.
