Take a stroll down memory lane into the days of steam engines and John Deere model A tractors chugging through the fields at the annual Farming and Antique Related Machinery (FARM) Club Show in southern Indiana on June 22-24.

The annual show will be at the Ripley County Fairgrounds in Osgood, Ind. this year and festivities will kick off promptly at 10 a.m.

“The fairgrounds provides easy parking, plenty of shade and nice restroom facilities so visitors can plan on spending the day with us,” said Chris Schmaltz, event coordinator for the FARM Club Show.

This year, the event will showcase vintage John Deere tractors, although several other pieces of antique equipment will also be on display. In addition to the antique display, FARM club members will demonstrate the work of threshing wheat, log sawing, corn shredding, stationary baling, hit and miss engines, steam engines, blacksmithing and more.

Meanwhile, the Ripley County Extension Homemakers will be hosting demonstrations in the Homemakers building. For children, the all-new “Kids Corral” will be a hot attraction, where they can experience life on the farm, learn new safety tips, enjoy craft activities and win prizes.

The ever-popular pedal pull will be hosted daily for children under 70 pounds. A traditional tractor pull is planned for Friday and Saturday. Starting at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, the Super Farm Tractors will pull and the Garden Tractors will face off on Saturday at 11 a.m. followed by an antique tractor pull at 4 p.m.

Throughout the show, there will be various activities including bingo, a flea and craft market and a “Trading Post” hosted by the FARM Club.

For those who enjoying kicking back in a lawn chair and relaxing, there will be musical entertainment both Friday and Saturday. The Tristaters Band will entertain guests at 5 p.m. on Friday with a classic country sound, followed by the folk and bluegrass duo Sean and Diz, who will perform at 8:30 p.m. On Saturday, the Mt. Pleasant String band will perform a bluegrass concert at noon, followed by a performance from Pure Country at 5 p.m.
