| Indiana auction sells vintage horse equipment, cars
ALBION, Ind. — Recently, Bayman Auctioneers hosted a unique equipment auction featuring horse-drawn carriages, buggies, sleighs and even classic cars on Aug. 11.
The Albion, Ind. sale, conducted by Jim Bayman and Justin Gaerte, auctioned off numerous items from the estate of Dr. William E. Fitzkee.
Featured items included a horse- drawn carriage bought for $4,500, a two-seat buggy sold for $800, a doctor’s buggy for $400 and a sleigh for $650.
Other highlighted items included a 1966 Ford Thunderbird convertible, in need of repair that sold for $5,600 and a 1967 Pontiac Tempest convertible, in need of repair for $4,000. For more information, call the auctioneers at 260-723-4055.
Tri-State Boer Genetics sale featured packed house
GREENSBURG, Ind. — On Aug. 4, Tri-State Boer Genetics hosted an elite Boer goat sale at the Decatur County Fairgrounds in Greensburg, Ind.
With 98 lots, the auction netted exactly $73,875. According to the auctioneers, 21 bucks or male goats averaged $945; 50 full-blood does, or females, averaged $789 and 26 part-blooded Boer does averaged $537.50.
Semen also sold during the sale with one straw of Trump semen raking in an outstanding $600.
The high-selling buck for the day was lot number 6 consigned by Show Barn Genetics, of Eminence, Ky. Lot 6 was purchased by Fox Chase Farms, Randy and Ginner Greiner of Connersville, Ind. for $4,300. Lot 19 was the top selling doe at $1,900.
She was consigned by Richardson Boer Goats of Bloomfield, Ky. and was sold to Daryl Russell of Noblesville, Ind.
