His name has been placed on the “Top Performer” award shown in T-L’s worldwide headquarters’ lobby and additional recognitions were personally presented to him at the recent National Farm Equipment Show in Louisville, Ky.

New director, ag educator named at Hancock County Extension
GREENFIELD, Ind. — Purdue Cooper-ative Extension District Director Rick Chase recently announced Sarah Burke will serve as the new director for the Hancock County office, replacing John Mesko, who departed in November.

Burke will continue to direct 4-H and youth education while taking on oversight of the rest Hancock County’s Extension programming. She has been a Purdue Extension Youth Educator for 16 years and served twice as Hancock County’s interim director.

A graduate of Lewis Cass High School, Burke earned a B.S. degree in animal science from Purdue University and an M.S. in executive development for public service from Ball State University.

She and husband Kevin have three sons, Nathan, Nick and Jared. Chase also announced that on March 1 Roy Ballard will be the new ANR Educator in Hancock County, replacing Mesko in that capacity.

Ballard, 48, most recently was the ag educator in Floyd County. The 48-year-old Mooresville native and wife Edy have five children, Pascalle, Rachel, Nathan, Bianca and Sophia.

Ballard holds a B.S. degree from Purdue in animal science and ag education, and an M.S. from Indiana University in secondary education. Ballard was a teacher for 12 years before joining Purdue Cooperative Extension.

QUALISOY appoints new leaders at recent Board meeting
ST. LOUIS, Mo. — QUALISOY, a collaboration among the soybean industry to help market soybeans that result in healthier, more functional products to the marketplace, has announced its 2006 Board of Directors and executive committee.

At the Board’s meeting held in Minneapolis, Chairman Jim Sutter welcomed new Board members, including Todd Allen, director, United Soybean Board; Philip Bradshaw, director, United Soybean Board; John Jansen, vice president, product and process development, Bunge Oils; David Schmidt, past director, United Soybean Board; and Rob York, vice president, strategic commodity sourcing, ACH Foods.

Jim Bowman, vice president, product management, Monsanto Company, replaces the seat held by his colleague Kerry Preete, who has assumed a new leadership role within Monsanto.

Hubner Seed hires western Ohio Sales Manager
WEST LEBANON, Ind. — Hubner Seed Co., Inc., a producer of corn, soybean, wheat and alfalfa seeds operating in 15 states throughout the Midwest and east coast, has hired Jason Flickinger as the district sales manager for western Ohio.

Flickinger will supervise the recruitment and expansion of dealer accounts in and around the Dayton area to better promote and deliver seed varieties produced by Hubner Seed to the area agricultural workers.

Prior to joining Hubner Seed, Flickinger served as a commercial sales agent with JD Equipment, Inc., a John Deere equipment manufacturing and distribution company, in Wilmington, Ohio, for two years. He earned his Associate of Science in Agriculture from Black Hawk East College in Kewanee, Ill., and is a member of the Montgomery County Farm Bureau.
