Letter writer against government-run healthcare
Dear Editor,
First, I want to declare that our present free-enterprise healthcare system – though not perfect – is the envy of the world. People come from all over to get care they need and are unable to receive through their own government-controlled healthcare system.
Having said that, I would like to address Sen. Evan Bayh’s recent “Guest Opinion.” (Bipartisan push is need to tame ballooning national debt, Farm World, Nov. 25.)

Sen. Bay is quite pleased to announce his plan to vote “no” on raising the debt ceiling “to ensure our children and grandchildren inherit a better way of life and a stronger country.”
That is good.

Yet, he voted “yes” on the government-run healthcare bill that will – if passed – go into full effect in 2013, conveniently after the next presidential election. This bill will not only cost American taxpayers billions of dollars and put our healthcare decisions into the hands of the government, it will be totally devastating for future generations.

May I quote Sen. Bayh’s last sentence; “Before we borrow more money from our children and grandchildren, we need to commit to a new fiscal process that ensures a legacy of which all Americans can be proud.”

Interesting.
