When life breaks down, call on God: A real-life reminder of His faithfulness

Verses from Mama

Jeremiah 33:3 “Call to me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”

Who do you call when you are in a fix?
Anyone who has faced a problem knows how important it is to have someone reliable to call on. You never know when you’ll need a helping hand. That’s why it’s crucial to be connected to someone you can trust.
But even when your best support person isn’t available, there is Someone who will never let you down.
Recently, I found myself in a pickle. I ran to the bank to make some deposits, but when I came back out to my jeep my heart sank. The single click of the engine quickly told me the story.
I popped the hood… or at least tried to. After fumbling around and failing to find the latch, I gave up. I needed help.
I called dad and thankfully, he answered, and gave me a few mechanical tips over the phone. I hung up, determined to try one more time.
I whispered a quick prayer and gave it another go. This time, I reached deeper beneath the hood and finally found the latch. Progress! I remembered that last time this happened, Dad had banged on the battery with a hammer. Since I didn’t have one handy, I used the next best thing: a drill someone had left in the car.
With my unconventional tool, I banged on the battery’s connections, said another prayer, and turned the key. To my relief, the Jeep started right up. I called dad to give him the good news before heading to the mechanic.
It seems like hardly a week goes by without some kind of unexpected problem. Sometimes it’s something small, like a dead battery. Other times, the troubles run deeper. These situations can leave us wondering: Is there anyone who can really help me?
Often, even our closest friends can’t fix what’s broken. They may not have the answers we need. But God does.
The Lord is strong enough to carry your heaviest burdens and loving enough to care about even your smallest frustrations. He is always there to help.
The prophet Jeremiah, while in a prison cell, heard the Lord speak to him. God gave him this beautiful invitation:
“Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”
That invitation wasn’t just for Jeremiah. It’s for us, too. When life catches us off guard, we can call on the Lord. No matter what a week may bring, we’re covered. He promises help in all circumstances.
So, what are you facing today? Who do you usually call first?
Why not start with the Lord?
He promises to answer, to help, and to reveal His greater purpose in His perfect timing. Then you’ll know – He heard you. He is good. And His love endures forever.
