By ANN ALLEN Indiana Correspondent ROCHESTER, Ind. — Despite struggles with a wet spring and delayed planting, the Fulton County Historical Power Assoc. is gearing up for its 7th annual show, set for June 19-21 at the Fulton County Historical Society grounds north of Rochester on U.S. 31.
This year’s featured tractor is Ford/Fordson. The featured agri-business is New Holland Rochester, owned by Jim Straeter, a Fulton County entrepreneur who also has dealerships in Logansport, Rossville and Bluffton and sells wind power equipment at his Rochester outlet.
This year’s show offers a bit of something for everyone – a kids’ pedal tractor pull, a ladies’ powder puff pull and skillet toss, bluegrass music, toy show, hay baling with New Holland equipment, cutting logs by using steam power, horse and tractor pulls, a garden tractor pull and a trading post featuring equipment, parts and farm-related items.
An all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet including biscuits and sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, hash browns, fruit and a drink will be offered daily. The lunch menu offers sub sandwiches and homemade pie. Both meals will be served in the museum meeting room, and meals are served between 7 a.m.-2 p.m.
From 9 a.m.-5 p.m., the Museum and Living History Village will open. Also, food vendors, a flea market, and toy and craft vendors are available. The toy show hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday in the Richland Center room at the north end of museum.
Displays in the Center Field Tent will honor New Holland Rochester, Jim Straeter and the featured Ford/Fordson, New Holland equipment, and hit-n-miss engines. Raffle tickets are available on a Ford 9N Pedal tractor and other prizes. The drawing is set for noon on Sunday.
